Electrical Installation#

Introduction#

This section mainly describes the basic matters that should be paid attention to when installing the robot system.

Warning and Caution Signs#

When installing the robot system, be sure to follow the following warnings and precautions. These warnings and precautions must also be observed when performing maintenance operations.

Installation of Control Cabinet#

The control cabinet should be placed on a flat surface. A 50mm gap should be reserved on each side of the control cabinet to ensure smooth air circulation. The bottom bracket of the control cabinet is pre-provided with through holes for installation. Please use 4*M8 bolts for installation as required. For specific dimensions, please refer to Appendix F: Outline Dimensions of DC15S/DC30D Control Cabinet.

Note: For different placement forms of the control cabinet, the direction of the control cabinet’s fan dust cover must be installed correctly; otherwise, the IP protection level will be affected.

Teaching Applications#

A teach pendant or PAD can be optionally configured for programming, displaying, and operating the robot system. The application forms are listed as follows:

Application Scenario 1: Optional Teach Pendant (1 teach pendant for 1 control cabinet)

In this application scenario, the teach pendant shall not be plugged or unplugged during use, and the teach pendant shielding interface is prohibited from use.

Application Scenario 2: Optional Teach Pendant (1 teach pendant for multiple control cabinets)

In this application scenario, for the control cabinet that needs to be connected to the teach pendant, the teach pendant shielding interface (TP Jumper interface on the internal front panel of the control cabinet) is prohibited from use; For the control cabinet from which the teach pendant is removed, its teach pendant shielding interface must be connected with a short-circuited 8-core plug-in connector. For details, please refer to the description of the TP Jumper interface in the internal interface of the control cabinet.

When the robotic arm is in the automatic operation mode (please rotate the mode selection switch on the teach pendant to set the robot to “automatic operation” mode), the procedure for removing the teach pendant is as follows:

  1. Insert the connector with the connected emergency stop button harness or shorting wire into the teach pendant shielding interface of the control cabinet;

  2. Pull out the teach pendant plug.

Steps for reinserting the teach pendant (when the robotic arm is in automatic operation mode and the control cabinet is not connected to the teach pendant):

  1. Confirm that the teach pendant mode selection (key) switch is in the automatic operation mode;

  2. Insert the teach pendant connector into the teach pendant interface;

  3. Pull out the emergency stop button harness or shorting wire connector.

Application Scenario 3: Optional PAD

When using a PAD, an emergency stop button harness must be configured. Please insert the emergency stop button box into the teach pendant shielding interface (TP Jumper interface on the internal front panel of the control cabinet). The emergency stop button harness is an optional accessory. Please consult the dealer for purchase. The default length of the optional emergency stop button harness is 5m. If the length is not suitable, users can make their own harness according to actual needs. The wiring diagram is as follows:
